DELECTABLES WITH DAN: CHRISTMAS EDITION DAY NINE 🎄🎁❄️☃🎅🏻

Today is the final day of Delectables with Dan: Christmas Edition. I've enjoyed doing these
and you can look forward to seeing more of these in the future!

Before we actually start to make a mixture or used the jared or boxed ones like I used, you're
going to want to preheat your oven to 220C or 425F. Hot I know. I don't know why it's calling for that but it is. You can also use the recipe I used last year. It's in the links below! I actually knocked the heat back because the edges were getting rather dark. I don't know what the fuck this recipe is playing at but it pissed me off. I brought it down to 190C/375F for the rest of the bake time.

If you're going to be using a pre-made pie crust like me, you're going to want it
to sit up and warm up to room temp before you attempt to fit it into the bottom of
the pie dish. I waited about 25 minutes before putting the crust into the bottom of the pie dish. I cut off the little extra bits that I had before pouring the mincemeat into the crust on the bottomWhen you go to spread your mince meat into the bottom crust, make sure that you spread it evenly, so it cooks more evenly and doesn't leave little gross spaces in it. Because after all, no one's got time for a semi full slice of mincemeat pie. Got it?

Put the time portion of the pie crust on top, completely covering the contents and making a lovely
little edge over the edge of your pie dish. Before putting in to bake, brush with an egg wash so that the crust becomes golden and has a little more than a plain pie crust taste. Also, make a few little slits in the top of you pie before putting it in to bake.

Put your pie into bake in the lowest possible rack in your oven. Allow it to bake for 20 minutes or until golden. I did the until golden bit. I like making to smaller ones much better and they also turn out better for me, but I didn't have the time to make all of them, and also I'm only having one piece and the rest is going away to others!

All of you have a wonderful holiday season! And I will see you soon!
