Dan and lil Phil in NYC @ Christmas Time! DAY TWO 🎄🎁❄️☃🎅🏻

Then The Morning Comes....
Early. It's 5.30. I didn't think I'd be awake this early after being out until 22.30 the night before but what the hell! I've got a lot of stuff to do today and I need to make sure that everything is in order. For a few minutes, I lay listening to the sounds of the hotel. Somehow everything seems magnified. I don't want to listen to arguments in Chinese nor do I want to hear footsteps and distant arguments of strangers. I pop on Simple Plan and sink into Pierre's voice. Ah, comforting melodies. I can't wait to see them live...No! Focus on your work and think about a gig later. I wonder why my brain wanders so.
I pull the first things I touch out of my suitcase and decide that's what I'm going to wear tomorrow. "Knulla Dig Din Jävla Helvete". Perfect T-Shirt. (The Swedish to English translation is 'Fuck you, you fucking fuck." And of course black paints and my seed of life rainbow trainers. They're pretty much the only non-black pair of trainers I own.

The Green Hill Cemetery
Now I didn't know this, but it's actually a historic site in America. (Shows how much I read the world news.) As I went by some of the headstones on my way to the gate, I was amazed at its beauty. There are few cemeteries I've been in that I can say radiated beauty. And those cemeteries were in London and Münster. The little pond, the chapel and some of the artistry was just breathtaking. I was so happy that lil Phil and I decided to come here to shoot today. (The vlog is on my Youtube, with link below.)

BROOKLYN MUSEM
I mainly only went here because I was dying to see the Iggy Pop Exhibit. And boy was it
something that I never expected to see. I thought it would be about his life, career and his art.
Well, it was certainly was something. It wasn't anything about his career, but it featured several art styles of Iggy in the nude from different years. I did take photos of the exhibit and a vlog so people can see what I'm talking about. It wasn't like most art I've ever seen. It wasn't just about nudity with this exhibit. It was about capturing the soul that lies within the human machine and I have to say it was beautifully done. It was tasteful, bare and expressive. I recommend this to people to go see, though you probably don't want to bring your children for that one.
Whilst there on the ground floor, I took in some amazing Japanese painted pottery and little sculptures. I love Asian culture and I think they have an amazing talent at balancing the artwork they choose to display on their pottery.

I skipped anything with modern art because I think 99% of it is just tasteless garbage. And don't get me started on that talentless fuck, Andy Warhol. He can go fuck himself in one of those soup cans he's so mental about. I enjoy classic art, where you can see the passion, there's no guess work and you can see the true talent of these artists. And don't get all butthurt because I don't like modern art. Everybody has different likes.
The Ancient Egyptian exhibit had to be my favourite out of everything. It was rich with cultural and experiences of Ancient Egypt. I've been obessed with Pharohs, pyramids and the whole bit since I was a young child. There's just something magical and alluring about the culture. I took in the beauty of the funeral amulets, scrolls and stone carvings the museum had to offer. It's got nothing on the British Musem, but this was a lovely mid-morning visit.
We moved on to Ancient Incan art, where they displayed funeral masks, statues and objects all of which were brilliant. I've not really been exposed too much to this culture and I left the museum wanting to know more. I've booked a few things on the Internet to help me explore a bit more. If you know a bit about this interesting ancient world, do leave suggestions for books, videos and documentaries below or via my social media!
Last but not least, I went and enjoyed some European paintings. It's a rather small gallery but they had some wonderful oil paintings and some of the most interesting statues. One even looked like people trying to do a three way and they were getting it wrong!  I'll post it on Twiter and Instagram. Keep and eye out for that!

In the words of Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg,
"It's not gay when it's in a three way. It's quite clear when you
see the instant replay." (Three Way ft. Lady Gaga Loney Island.)

RADIO CITY

After the thrills at the Brooklyn Museum and meeting up with a few people there,
we decided that it was time to head to Radio City! And along the way we met a lovely
bloke named Marcus who went with us here and to Rockefeller Centre. We walked the entire
way because the underground is expensive as fuck. The streets were really crowded as it is tourist season and there are tonnes of people out on the weekend shopping for holiday gifts. Together we toured through the various blocks, filming and taking pictures. I really just wanted to capture the moment not only for myself but to share it with all of you guys who probably can't get to NYC. There's going to be a Day in the Life video up soon on my YouTube Channel so Staaaaay Tuned!
When we got close to Radio City it was hard to take photos and get along that side of the street because there were dozens of people lined up to see the show. (Lil Phil and I didn't buy tickets because we're cheap asses.) We stumbled along going in and out of the lines of people and police that were there to make sure everyone was safe. Eventually, we broke free of the crowd and were out in the open pavement again. During the time we talked with Marcus, shared some stories and things about ourselves having a great time. I saw a few people who recognised me as we dashed in and out of the congestion and it was lovely to see some of you guys! You'll be able to see me for sure at PlaylistLive down in Orlando, FL this upcoming May! Then down in Miami! I'm working on a MASSIVE UK TOUR, so if you want me to come to your city tell me in a message or in the comments below!

ROCKEFELLER CENTRE
Even though it's a lot more magical at night, I still felt like Kevin McCalister standing there
holding Phil and snapping pictures. It was magical to see. There were tonnes of people so it was hard to get close but I tried the best I could. I think I got some filming down here too. I won't swear to it, but if I have it will be up on my Facebook! :D I really felt Christmas magic in the atmosphere. It was so filled with energy, joy and excitement. It was an amazing experience for both me and Phil and our new mate Marcus.

After this Phil and I headed off to Port Authority Bus Terminal to catch a bus to Belleville to make it in time for my tattoo appointment. Good thing I planned on getting to the bus station early as the bus was a fucking half hour late. I met some pretty awesome people down there whilst waiting and I'm pretty sure I'll never forget them or the help that they extended me as I was really unfamiliar with the bus route. ❤️❤️❤️

INK ME

As many of you know, I am an AVID tattoo collector and fan and have been for almost a decade now. My mate Michelle does Tattoos at Rock City in Belleville, NJ which isn't really that far from NYC, so I made an appointment to pop out and see her and have her complete my ribs on the left side. Whilst there I met two hilarious girls. We talked, shared stories and ink. All around it was a good time.Blog on my latest rib tattoo will be up for Tattoo Talk Tuesday this week and the Tattoo Q+A will
be up next week! You can see a pic of the latest ink via Instagram!

FUCK THE POLICE
So, almost frozen with bright pink skin and shivering, I made my way to the Belleville Town Hall because I knew there was a police station around the back of the building. I needed help desperately or I would freeze. Little Phil and I were out in the cold for 2.5 hours already. So, I went into the Belleville police station and told them I had no cash on me besides $20 and I can't get a bus back because when I rang them they told me the bus to NYC wasn't running. I also told them that I called my mate who works in the area but she couldn't get away to help me. He looks at me blankly and says "Why isn't the bus running?" Well, fuck me. If I knew that
I'd be a mind reader or something. He was also eyeballing lil Phil whilst we were talking. "I don't know. I just need help." "Well, we can't help you. You have to take a bus to Nutley and then transfer and transfer again maybe...um, a bus driver would be able to tell you." Wow. Really fucking enlightened this bloke and he's a lieutenant? I guess they must give out those badges like candy.
"Which bus is it?" "The 13N." I thanked him to be polite and then left the station. And on their little slogan they have "To Protect and Serve." They sure as fuck didn't do either of those tonight. Tossers.
So I went to the bus stop I was at before and just waited for another 45 minutes. I can't do this. I almost broke down and cried that nothing is working for me and even lil Phil looked frozen. I walked to the Subway and told the man behind the counter that I needed help. He offered to call me a taxi.

And I told him I couldn't afford that. He arranged for me to get a ride back to my hotel in ChinaTown. The guy arrived in about 8 minutes and said he would gladly take me back. So finally at 23.00 I arrived back at the hotel, starved and frozen. I took lil Phil's frozen bear coat off him and tucked him under the blanket at once then I ordered dinner.

We soon fell asleep, almost into the plates.
And surprisingly we didn't oversleep by that much the following day.
