TATTOO TALK THURSDAYS: ALL ABOUT MY LATEST RIB TATTOO!

Hello, fellow ink lovers!
I know I promised a Tattoo Q and A last week but this week I decided to talk about my latest rib tattoo. I've had my ribs tattooed in the past and completed the tattoos in a normal session time of 1-2 hours. This one was the same. I wanted to finish my upper ribcage so it went basically into my left armpit above my Unsterbliche Geliebt tattoo. (It's based on Beethoven's love letters to his immortal beloved and you can see part of it in the photos below.

With the tattoo going so close into my armpit, I thought it would hurt a lot more than it did. It hurt more to expose my ribs and chest in the shop. I didn't want anyone to see my stomach ever. I struggle with a lot of body image issues and anxiety and this was a complete test of both of them. I pretended to act like I was confident and laughed and talked while I got it done, but truthfully, inside I felt like I was dying. I felt the shame covering my skin and I wondered how she'd be able to do the tattoo with the shame coating my skin.
