DELECTABLES WITH DAN: CHRISTMAS EDITION DAY FIVE 🎄🎁❄️☃🎅🏻

Hello!
And welcome to day five of Delectables with Dan!
Today we'll explore the wonders of mint iced fudge brownies!
I first made these about 5 years ago and I've made them only twice
before now! So sit down, strap in and prepare to get minty!

1. I used a box mix for this because I've got tonnes of things going on with
my other job, booking things for my upcoming tour (Anja Absinthe Presents:
Dan and lil Phil GO MAPLE)  as well as maintaining my house, and preparing
for my next book release. (Little By Little Out 30/01/2017) If you want to make it
from scratch, I've linked my favourite BBC recipe below!
2. You'll want to pour your mixture into a large bowl, making sure you have enough
room to add your other ingredients and not have it splash out of the bowl. Before you start
adding your other ingredients, you'll want to preheat your oven to 175C or 350F.

3. It's easier to mix with a rubber spoon or scraper, making sure that you're able to mix and scrape with one singing baking item. Add into your mixture 160 ml of vegetable oil, two large eggs and 60ml of water.
4. Mix until mixture is completely blended and there are no little pockets of chocolate powder. That can impact baking and leave little dry spots in your finished brownie, which you don't want!

5. You can use a regular greased baking pan, but I got this amazing little
one when I was in LA in 2014 and it works amazingly for me. I always like the bottom
with foil and set it on a bake tray to make it easier to pull out of the oven and reduces
the risk of any sort of mess. Spread your batter evenly into the pan before putting into bake.
If you're using the same thing as I firmly press the "cutter" part into the tray, making sure that browie
mix is evenly distrubuted and the "cutter" is all the way to the bottom.
6. Put into bake for  24-26 minutes. While your brownies are baking and you have some down time, you can make your mint icing! You'll want to do it in a small bowl because that's all you'll need. I've used Peppermint Schnapps in the past, but this time I used peppermint essence. The first thing you need to do is get some vanilla icing and place it into your bowl. Add 4 drops of green food colouring to create a light green colour. You can add more if you want a more green look to your icing. Before mixing put in half a tablespoon of peppermint essence. Mix food colouring and peppermint essence evenly into your vanilla icing.

7. Once you've completed your icing and you've checked to see that your brownies are done, you set them to cool completely before you ice them. You can check them with a toothpick or a skewer to check if they are done. Your test item must come out clean, that's how you know they're done. Allow them to sit a good 20-30 minutes before applying icing to them. You'll also want to slice them or remove the slicer part if you're using a pan like me.

8. Once you cut your brownies into even squares it's time to ice them! You can use a silver knife
like I did or a small cake decorator. You'll want to take a small bit on the tip and carefully ice the
surface of the brownie creating a thin layer of mint icing. Carefully swirl the icing to give it a sort of
snow drift effect on the top! Serve some mint iced and serve some plain, that way everyone can enjoy what they want. : ) Thanks for tuning into another Delectables with Dan, Christmas Edition. I'll see you guys later!
