DICKCEMBER: BAKING JARS! (Biscuits/Cookies/Brownies)
December. The Holidays. The season of giving.
Today on Delectables with Dan we're going to teach you how to give a gift that keeps on giving.
No, not how to teach a woman to orgasm or stimulate an anal orgasm, I mean those gifts are nice, but this is a baking blog. Today we're going to be making some holiday baking jars! We've got a classic Christmas Coloured M&M cookie (you can turn them into bars by pressing the mixture into a greased baking tin or even a giant cookie by pressing the mixture into a greased cake pan. Bake at the same heat for roughly 20-25 minutes if baking in tins, not as cookies.) A Mint-Chocolate Chunk Brownie and a delicious homemade cocoa jar!
**You're going to want to measure all of your ingredients out before you attempt to assemble the jars.
All of the liquid ingredients such as water, oil and egg are not part of the jars. The person you give the jar to will need to have their own.
**Make sure that all jars are clean and are food storage safe.
**Jars should be dry before putting in any ingredients.
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE JAR!
Assembling Your Jar
1tsp sea salt
3/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
210g plain flour
110g brown sugar
100g caster sugar
40g Christmas Coloured M&M
Assembling Your Jar
Put the ingredients in in the order that they are listed above. Make sure that you pack down your powders before applying the next layer of the mixture. You don't need to pack the salt and bicarbonate of soda layer since there is not enough to pack.
Dress your jar up with a seasonal coloured ribbon! Using a hot glue gun, glue pieces of ribbon around the top of the lid of the jar. Cover the top carefully. Be sure to make sure that you don't cover the area where the lid screws to the jar. Make sure to include the instructions on a tag for each jar that you make.
What You Will Need To Make Cookies
170g softened butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
In a large bowl mix together your dry ingredients from the jar before adding your butter, egg and vanilla. Blend well. Add in your M&Ms. Allow mixture to sit for a minute or two. If mixture is too thin for your liking add 1-2 tbsp plain flour and remix. Apply tablespoon sized drops of batter onto a greased baking sheet and put into bake at 190C for 8-10 minutes.

CHRISTMAS COCOA JAR!
125g powdered milk
50g cocoa powder
125g icing sugar
4 tablespoons of dry vanilla coffee mate
(if you've got massive hands like mine) one small handful of mini marshmallows.
**Thanks Al for the seasonal Christmas Tree & Star Marshmallows!
Assembling Your Jar
Put your ingredients in the jar in the order that they are listed above. You won't be able to pack the ingredients until you reach the vanilla coffee mate; you will need to pack that down in order to add in the marshmallows. **If you do not have a vanilla coffee mate when making cocoa simply add in 2 tsp of vanilla essence.
To make a cup of cocoa fill a mug with 1/4 of the combined mixture. (You will have to pour the jar out and mix the ingredients together in order to do this, leaving out the marshmallows.) Pour into your mug 235ml of hot water and stir. Add a few of the marshmallows and serve hot. (You can use milk if you desire.)
