Danny & Pork Chop Go To...New Haven!
It's not a secret that I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I need to get away before I completely lose my shit. So what am I going to do? Short little weekend trip. My weekend is Friday-Saturday because those are the days I never work; well most of the time I'm asked to fill in on Fridays and Saturdays I never work, so I have a good idea of when I can get away from everything.
As you guys know, I'm a massive museum and art gallery nerd, especially when it involves dinosaurs or Davinci. While this trip won't include him, it definitely will include dinosaurs. I've been to New York City dozens of times, the same with Boston, so I wanted to go somewhere with dinosaurs that I've never been to and New Haven caught my eye. It's also close to the Pez museum which I've been wanting to go to for a while now. I've got some of the places hammered out now, as I add things I will update either here or on my twitter based on how many new things I add or if I want to add new things. Times will be posted via social media about a week before, so come out, grab a hot cocoa and explore New Haven with me!
Check out the dinosaur exhibitions with me before they close for renovations! The last day to visit the museum with the dinosaur exhibitions/dinosaur hall is 31 December 2019, the rest of the museum will close 1 July 2020. For more information on this, head over to their website! I'm really excited to go through here and explore! I've been to so many dinosaur museums all over Europe, it's time to start hitting the ones in America!

I wanted to try a vegan bakery while I was in town and I was lucky enough to see a bakery that offers vegan options near one of the places I'm visiting! :D Pop in for a cupcake or whatever you fancy with me. The menu is linked down below so you can check out all the items and flavours they have to offer!

I'm big into art and I figured I'd have to check out some art galleries while I'm in the area. And what do you know? There are TWO on the same street! I'm going to be taking in all the art Yale has to offer with the University gallery and the centre for British art. It's been a few months since I've been to an art gallery! The last time being this past June while in Toronto. Actually, I'm really wanting to go back to Toronto and not just do a day trip. Maybe stay a few days. I really wanna tackle Canada in the winter, going across the ice and snow. Oh, God, that would be AMAZING. Maybe that's what I can do with my holiday time from work.
Yale University Art Gallery
111 Chapel St, New Haven
I may be going to this place first based on the street layout. I will be updating all of this with times as I work out the route. Will be updated via Twitter and Facebook.
Yale Centre For British Art
1180 Chapel St, New Haven
Being an author and avid reader (though I've not been doing that much reading lately.) I would have to stop here and see what it's all about. I'm actually dying to see the Voynich Manuscript! I'm unsure if I'm allowed to take pictures inside the building, but if I can I'll be posting them in the travel blog!
Beinecke Rare Book Museum & Manuscript Library
121 Wall St, New Haven
https://beinecke.library.yale.edu/.
SATURDAY 21 DECEMBER
What would this time of year be without sweets? I saw this when I was on my way to New York City back in October and I've been obsessed with finding time to be able to go visit it! Now I'm going to be spending some time there checking out one of the coolest candies :D
Pez Museum/ Visitor Centre
35 Prindle Hill, Orange CT
Have some suggestions? I'd love to read them!
