LEMME PUT SOME EASTER IN YOUR BASKET
I know this blog was supposed to be up the other day, but I was working on getting some photography prints together. We'll talk more on those later. This recipe for cake mix biscuits I got offline (thanks Facebook!) and I've linked it down below. I don't know if it works with other mixes, but I know I'm game to try new things. I'm one for adventure.
ONE
You're not going to follow the prep instructions on the cake mix box but rather these.
You will use the same baking temperature 190 or 350f and bake for 15-20 minutes.
So heat up that bitch before you stick these in.
You will use 80ml of oil and 2 eggs to make this mixture. Add to the dry mix and combine.
Add your sprinkles to the cake mix and mix them even evenly. I used a "party pack" type
because I bought the wrong ones. I thought there were Easter ones, but whatever I don't care.
Not like there's a real taste to Easter and all these sprinkles taste the bloody same anyway.
(You can tell the holiday is starting to get to me.) I eyeballed how many sprinkles I put in, I thought them saying 2lbs of them were too much. I'd like some biscuit with my sprinkles, cheers, thanks.
TWO
Your mix won't be like that of a cake but will turn into the kind of consistency that you want for biscuits and cookies. Flour your hands and a flat surface before you put them down to cut out. Make sure that surface is floured before hand or you'll stick your shit to the counter and no one wants that. This kind of makes me think of Jim from American Pie. (No, don't bake your apple pies like that; Especially if you work in a bakery. The health departments tend to frown on that sort of thing. So do customers I suppose.
THREE
Not all Easter themed, but it will do the trick. We've got an Easter Egg, a carrot, a little duckie and...a kidney? No, that's a jellybean. Actually, I'd prefer the kidney...can use that for Halloween as well. Now that's a win-win and a great way to economise! Evenly space the cut outs on a lightly greased bake tray and put into bake.
So there's that done. It's quick and brilliant for Easter and requires no effort and barely any clean up. If only more of life's endeavours were like that...We'll ponder that later. As for me it's on to get the prep for Easter dinner done and write a proper blog, because if you couldn't tell, I'm so over this happy Easter shit.
