Devilishly Dark Chocolate Easter Cupcakes! 😈🐰😈

Another holiday season is upon us.
This spring I've gone all out to prepare amazing Easter treats. Maybe it's the gorgeous weather.
I'm rather looking forward to sitting under a tree and eating one or two of the things I make up.
None the less, indoors or outdoors these treats I'll share with you throughout the days leading up to Easter will sweeten your holiday or your weekend if you don't celebrate. I don't know why I do when I don't believe it. Maybe I'm just a sucker for traditions. Maybe it's just me wanting an excuse to muck about in the kitchen. Who knows, who cares.
This time with me in the kitchen I have a special guest! Little, Little Dan will make an appearance as my kitchen komrade. Let's get this blog done so I can relax and continue re-watching Sherlock.

What you will need:
(I also noticed as soon as I finished the baking and cleared up everything and was having a look through the photos that I forgot to put the icing in the pictures. You will need 2 tubes of icing or you can make your own. All of these items can be purchased via Amazon.co.uk.

ONE
You're going to need a giant ass mixing bowl for this. There's no way around it, well unless you want to make two individual batches of cake mix, but who's got time for that? You will put both mixes into the bowl and add the eggs, oil and then water. Give it a few light stirs with a mixing spoon then use your hand mixer for an ultra silky batter. I'm using a devil's food, dark chocolate type cake mix. You can use vanilla, strawberry, whatever flavour mix that you want. It won't make any different.

TWOONLY GREASE THE MINI CAKE PANS. USE A LINER FOR THE CUPCAKE TRAY(S). (I've only got one of the, hence the one tray. Makes for a real pain in the arse too when I'm doing baking like this. (These liners are Phil Lester inspired because let's face it, I love that guy to pieces. And from now on whenever I use blue themed or coloured ones, they'll be called LesterCups..cause PhilCups or PhilLiners seems oddly filthier than when I first thought of it.)

I love when I watch them bake and they puff up into little hills of cake.
There's something magical about that.
It's something no one can take away from me.

THREE

Let your mini cakes and cupcakes cool for at least an hour before attempting to ice and decorate them. You don't want a giant mess on your hands. Make sure that your icing is whipped and loosened before putting it into your icing bag. Carefully and with a steady hand trace round the top of the cupcake layering slightly upwards to create this luscious mini-mountain of chocolatey goodness.  (Do note to be careful and not to add too much or it will slip down itself and it will look like shit. No, literally, it will look like shit; and as amusing as that can be sometimes, this isn't one of the times that you want that to happen. Especially if those nagging twats that you're forced to call family on the way round and they love to nag the Christ out of you. Hm...this holiday is about Christ leaving, but fuck, you don't need to aggravation.)

And of course, it wouldn't be a proper Delectables with Dan episode if I didn't get at least some of the mixture, batter, ingredients all over one of my black shirts. I have an apron, I even took it out, I just forgot about it. (Yes, that's a Russian Stripper on my t-shirt. Only the classiest in my kitchen.)

FOUR
You can use whatever colour / shaped Peeps that you want.
And you can use whatever kind of decorations you want, edible glitter, jimmies, sprinkles.

You will repeat this process with both the mini cakes and the cupcakes, decorating as you wish
them to be; add variety. The whole point is just to enjoy yourself. The chocolate drizzle can also be pushed down into the centre of the cupcake (if you are using this brand) and squeezed to create a lovely little explosion in your mouth when you bite into it. I think this would be only one time that you want something oozing into your mouth if you know what I mean.

AND THERE WE HAVE IT :D
They're cute, sweet and devilishly chocolatey.
Perfect for Easter.

Stay tuned for tomorrow where we make something adorable and egg shaped. And no, it's not a biscuit or a cookie of any type.
