Tattoo Talk Thursdays Ep. 2: Pine Cones and Holly
Tattoo Talk Thursday Ep. 2
Pine Cones and Holly
Hey, guys and welcome to the second instalment of Tattoo Talk Thursdays!
Today, since I'm feeling rather festive (yes, I am aware that it's only November...as I
sit here sipping hot chocolate out of a Christmas themed travel mug...) I decided to talk
about a holiday themed tattoo that I want to get. I love the Christmas season-the cold, the overcast
skies, baking, the twisting of the reds, golds and greens. The whole attitude of people does an overhaul, the city is filled with hope and caring than any other time of the year. It's magical.
Then it hit me. I could get something to remind me of all the season means to me that I could take with me everywhere and always. I could get a Christmas themed tattoo! The smell of the pine and holly always has been a pivotal thing of my childhood Christmases, so why not go with that? I could
also incorporate my love for the fall with a pine cone into a single tattoo.
I sketched out a rough draft of what I want to do. I want something neotraditional and colour that really radiates through the tattoo. I wanted it in a spot where I could always see it, but alas my arms and legs are pretty much filled in all the spots I can always see, so I decided to go on the knee. I know it will be painful, but I think it will finish off my right leg with a bang. It will compliment the other pieces I have near it. My favourite film quote 'Destruction is just a form of Creation" (Donnie Darko; 2001), Bam Margera's autograph (Pro skater, Stuntman, Musician and more) and my bitch, which is my 50's style pin up girl putting her lippy on. I took the size that I needed the tattoo stencil to be and sketched it out this morning.
My next blog will talk about Tattoo Goo. Is is it worth it or not? We'll talk about the pros and cons, where you can get it. On this blog, I'd love to hear your guy's feedback; your own experiences with Tattoo Goo or similar products. We'll also talk about "dry healing" my own experiences and I'd love to hear about yours as well!
