Delectables with Dan Presents: Vegan Pizza Fries!

Delectables with Dan Presents:
Vegan Pizza Fries

I’ve been seeing this shit all over Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Fucking pizza fries. At first, I’m like ew, what the fuck?
Tomato and potato? Cute rhyme, cute concept in theory but as a dish? Could it work?
Do I really want to try it? Actually, I do.
Since I can never find fucking vegan pepperoni where I live, we’re going to be making them without that.
I just realised I've done quite a few pizza-themed things with Delectables with Dan recently.
It's not on purpose, I guess I just have a pizza craving or something.
Like, tbh after making these for the first time, I've had them like 3 nights in a row with other things,
like the shit is addictive. I guess I just have an addictive sort of personality.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
4 medium-large Russet Potatoes
3 teaspoons garlic salt
2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 cup marinara sauce
½ vegan mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon vegan parmesan cheese
1 ½ tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried oregano

This is a portion for 4 people or if you’re really hungry just you….You know you want it.
It also works really good with red potatoes, but they’re not as large so I went with Russet for this recipe.

Slice the potatoes into even slices. You’re going to want them to be even in size so they cook up better.
Spray a baking sheet with a non-stick baking spray. Evenly spread the potatoes out and drizzle them with
the olive oil and garlic salt. I supposed you can wait to add the garlic salt, but I don’t.
Having the potatoes cook up with the garlic salt only adds to the flavour.
And in this house, we like flavour. Put into cook at 375 for 45 minutes or until potatoes are golden brownand crisp.

Remove from the oven and pour the marinara sauce over the cooked potato slices.
I think it’s important to mention at this point that if you’re lazy you could just use a store-bought chips-
sorry, fries to make the recipe, just cooking them based on the bag instructions before pouring the marinara sauce over them. Once you’ve done that add both of your cheeses; it doesn’t matter what order you put them in.
Fuck, you can even mix them together and dump them right on there in one go. Just make sure that the cheese evenly coats the sauce. Should you feel you need more marinara sauce or cheese, embrace it. Top with the dried basil and oregano.
Put back into the hot oven and let coast for 10-12 minutes or until all of your cheese has melted and the sauce is heated up.
Remove from oven and serve.
They pair great with burgers of all different kinds, with “chicken”
nuggets or just on their own as a snack type deal.
