TATTOO TALK THURSDAYS: PLAYLISTLIVE INK

It's been a while since my last Tattoo Talk Thursday!
As some of you know, this past weekend I went to PlaylistLive in Orlando, Florida! I'd been to Florida before but only Tampa, Miami and some of the surrounding cities, so this was a new one to add to my list of cities visited! It was my first ever PlaylistLive and there were so many fucking people! I was pretty much the only really heavily tattooed one there and looked more like I was supposed to be at some sort of rock concert with my black ripped skinny jeans, black moonman t-shirt & platform galaxy platform boots.

I was headed into one of the massive rooms where they had the main panel stage and some merch stuff when I noticed Phil's brother Martyn at the Dan & Phil shop booth working merch. Surprisingly I wasn't nervous at all. I went up and what I wanted from the booth and went over to ask Martyn to sign my arm to add to Dan and Phil's signatures on my arm. He was amazed that I asked him to add to the collection and told me he loved all my tattoos. That was a major ego boost to have someone who I respect for his kindness & marketing abilities to tell me that he liked something about me. He snapped a picture for me in case the signature wiped off. He was honestly one of the nicest people that I met at the entire event. (There will be a blog about Playlist itself coming up later, possibly this weekend.) He seemed happily surprised that I wanted to get his signature tattooed with the other guys, which made me feel great as well.

I had him sign over the portrait on my arm so it would be close to his brother's & Dan's and also I wanted to start covering up the portrait on my arm that I no longer want. It was kind of a fuck you to the guy on my arm that made me feel better. It's really an upgrade to my way of thinking. When I finish covering it up (I have no idea what I'm going to do there, but thankfully it's light enough so a coverup won't be an issue) I'll probably do a blog on it. I've already picked out a title; Goodbye Fuckhead.

LE SIGNATURE!! 😱😱😱

I didn't know any of the shops in the ares, so I looked up a few online and none of them really caught my eye. I found Copper Fox Tattoo Company on a total accident. I had jumped off the bus when I saw a mega neato gift shop SHAPED LIKE A FUCKING WIZARD <You can check out the photo on my Instagram & Twitter> and I noticed their sign down the street. I dunno, it just felt right. <Not to mention I fucking love foxes and wish I could own one as a pet. I know just what I'd call him too, but I'm not gonna share that bit with you guys.>

I waited a few minutes for the shop to open and was greeted by a rather chipper bloke named Mike who was behind the little desk area. I explained to him what I wanted to do and he said it wouldn't be an issue. While he made the stencil off the photo Martyn & I had taken a few days earlier (the signature had faded a bit by the time I got to the shop) I sat sparkling internally with anticipation.
He called me in not long after, ready to stencil me and start the tattoo. I asked him if we could use the old signature as a kind of guide so I could have it pretty much in the same spot. Worked out perfectly.

The tattoo didn't take long to do at all. Maybe 15 minutes. It was completely painless & as we
chatted I didn't even remember that I was being tattooed until he said we were done. I took a look
over & couldn't have been more pleased with the result. Mike was really friendly & engaging, so we spent some time shooting the shit after the tattoo was finished and wrapped. It honestly was one of the best times I've had in a tattoo shop.

LE FINISHED TATTOO! :DD

I uploaded it to my Instagram & Tumblr in a three part segment photo,
From Signature to Tattoo & tagged Dan, Martyn & Phil in the hopes one of them
would see it. AND MARTYN DID AND HE BLOODY LIKED IT. When I saw that I screamed
and scared the fuck out of a group of birds lingering in a near by tree and a tonne of people who were standing near to me...they kinda stepped away in alarm.

All in all it was one of the most memorable tattoos I've ever gotten & as I prepare to leave Florida I've got two new good memories as well as a new friend.  Until next time, bitches.

SkinFix Update: The SkinFix Update will be up next week with a complete review from fresh to healed! I've also got the SkinFix vs Tattoo Goo Revival Tattoo Talk Thursdays to post which is slated for the week after that. Jesus Christ, I ca't believe that it's the 11th already. This month is kinda flying by.

And on another tattoo related note, I cannot wait for the London Tattoo Convention this September! I'm already thinking ink and adventure. I might get inked there or I might just wait for my birthday which is like a week and a half later. Why break the tradition of getting tattooed on my birthday? Ah, who knows? I already have a few ideas of what I want to get which will be featured in the next Dan the Doodlebug episode!
