Blackwork Healing Day 1

Healing Day 1

The skin on my hand is tight and is just the slightest bit sore. It kind of feels like I’m wearing
a Latex glove on my knuckles, as there is a small build up of fluid beneath the skin. (Which is totally normal after getting a tattoo of this nature on a hand or foot, so don’t worry if you still have a bit of swelling and or fluid build up in the first day or two of having the tattoo) Its sore to the touch and feels velvety. Some of the previous tattoo can still be seen as it was done so deep and the shading needles caused a bit of irritation to the lack of a better word „scarring“ of the previous tattoo. I know that as it heals it won’t be noticeable at all. Its just so odd to look at. Did I really tattoo this? Is this my hand? I know the alien look will fade away soon enough, but for now I’ll take a kind of perverse pleasure in looking at what I’ve done to myself.

Do note that a tattoo that has a lot of shading, especially on a hand or foot need to be kept moist. Don’t over lotion the tattoo or submerge it in water. AND NEVER USE VASELINE ON A NEW TATTOO. This time round, I am trying out „Tattoo Goo“. I’ve never used it before on any of my tattoos, I’ve always used the old give it a mental wash with anti-bacterial soup, then a dab of the old Nivea. I don’t know what possessed me to try it, but so far on day two of using the line, I’m not really seeing that much of a difference to my old method. Perhaps I will be proven wrong as the days go on. Who else has used Tattoo Goo products and what have your results been?
