Drama Lama: Teenage Wasteland (McFly Edition)

I’ve fallen back into my obsessive love for McFly. I remember the first album of theirs I ever received. „Wonderland“ It still remains a lyrical masterpiece but for me, I’d have to say that its a mash up between that, Motion in the Ocean and RadioACTIVE. I like some of their newer material, don’t get me wrong, I’m just a sucker for the teen-ish tunes I used to dance around and daydream to. A few cords into „Transylvania“ and I’m sitting back in my teenage room, candles burning low, ignoring a stack of coursework on my desk. Times were so much simpler then…before I made all these mistakes. I wish I’d go back and do a lot of it over, but then I wouldn’t have met some amazing people or gone through some of the necessary life changing things. It feels safer, this memory. I’ve got the future ahead of me Ah, 2006, you were a magical time for me, except for the bullying I faced at school. The nostalgia is beautiful when I listen to „Walk In The Sun“. McFly was such a huge part of my life during those formative years, that they will always hold a special place in my heart. 

That summer, following getting Motion in the Ocean for Christmas, my nan and I took several road trips, driving all over, singing along to McFly. I will forever treasure the memories those 4 boys were able to give me with my nan through their music. 

Dougie’s star tattoos on his ankles influenced my first tattoos as well. I loved the stars so badly and I wanted them more than anything.It'ss been 8 years since I got them and they blend in with all my other ink so well, but I remember the electricity in my veins as I sat waiting in the shop to get tattooed for the first time. (It was the start of an addiction too, but this one far less destructive and more enriching.) Now I’m thinking that I need to get just a McFly themed tattoo…Well, Christmas is coming!
