SPOOKTACULAR SNACKIES: Danny & Puffnstuff Make Halloween Cupcakes
Welcome to the last blog for this year's Spooktacular Snackies!
Remember those little chocolate skulls that I made in the previous blog?
They all weren't for just little Halloween goodie bags!
To make up this horrorific Halloween cupcakes, you're going to need some
festive cupcake wrappers, chocolate skulls (you can make your own via
the last blog or purchase some), vanilla and chocolate icings, orange food colouring
(or mix your own in the vanilla using red and yellow food colourings) black/orange
sprinkles and either a vanilla or chocolate cake mix.
You'll start by preparing the cake mix via the instructions on the box, but before pouring
mixture into the paper containers, put 3-4 tablespoons worth of Halloween sprinkles into the batter
You'll start by preparing the cake mix via the instructions on the box, but before pouring
mixture into the paper containers, put 3-4 tablespoons worth of Halloween sprinkles into the batter
and give it a good stir or two. You want them to be evenly distributed throughout the batter for a fun and festive colour pop once they're baked. Bake at the temperature noted on the box. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and make sure they are cool before attempting to ice them.
Using a thick round icing tip and a star tip, ice the cupcakes in one swift motion, Alternate between the colours between chocolate, orange and red. I did a few different colour tones of each because I love the autumn colours! Once the icing has set, give it two minutes or so, carefully squish a skull into the icing in the centre of the cupcake. Sprinkle with sprinkles if desired.
