Ring Around The Rosie...We All Fall Down

As you guys know, I've started a new job. I couldn't be happier with the place and the people So far everyone has been very welcoming and friendly. I work in a cannabis lab/greenhouse. What I do, maybe I'll tell you guys that part later. All I can say is, it's brilliant and I get to work with some pretty chill people. In this job, we can't wear street clothes or shoes inside the facility at all. We wear scrubs, hairnets and booties over our shoes if we don't have a brand new pair that are only worn inside the building. Well, the other day I was running a little late and by the time I got in, I had to rush to find scrubs in my size. I was already 15 minutes late and didn't want to waste any more time than I already had. I manged to find a pair of bottoms that would work for me if I pulled the string in and a top that I was basically swimming in. Most of the day I had ti pull up my bottoms, fearing they would fall down and everyone would see me stood there in my pants. The day passed without incident...until the end of the day. I'm in the corner of the lab putting things away and the area of the floor can get kind of slippery. I was being careful but carrying something I couldn't hold up my scrub bottoms...and then I slipped. I managed to put down what I was carrying in exchange for my scubs sliding down. Emberassment spread across my cheeks, but thankfully we're all wearing masks, so no one could see the blossoming blush across my cheeks. I expected someone to laugh. No one did. Rather than laughter, I was met with questions of "are you okay?" and warmings of that area always getting to be a little bit of a skating rink. No one was bothered that it happened and that I was stood in the lab in my boxers. Rather than mock me, they shared stories of it happening to them getting bottoms that are too big or a little too small, having them fall down or ripping out the crotch of them while bending down to get something. I felt a wave of relief wash over me like I've never felt before. I was welcomed into the fold. No one had a negative thing to say. Laughing it off, we finished cleaning up the rest of the lab and headed off to the changing rooms to descrub. All in all, I'm enjoying my time there. Blogs will be a little bit more spaced out as I am working 10 hour shifts 4-5 days a week. I'm still in the process of finishing that last zoo blog from May and the rest of the disasterous San Juan adventure. Keep an eye out for those and other works.
