According To My Sister...Part One
So for those of you who don't know, I'll be 30 this year. And it's rapidly approaching.
My sister, Peaches, can be a little too critical of things, especially with me. She's 7 years younger than me and despite that age gap, she has a few ideas on what's immature for 30. Just as a fun little thing to do and see how many of you other nearly 30's are "immature" for a few of your favourite things!
I love going to museums, galleries, zoos. Anything like that. I mean, after all these years on this blog and the references to other trips before I even had the blog should have been a tip-off. She thinks me going to dinosaur museums and space museums is a little childish, as there are a lot of exhibits for children. Sometimes I'll even join in with the children at the exhibits like I've done in Sweden and Germany! The dinosaurs don't care what age you are and neither should you-okay, no that sounded a little too leading there. You should care about age in certain situations, like dating, drink, things like that.
Well that ended badly, but let's see if I can make it a little worse. The next thing on my list touches on the last one. Dinosaurs. I love them. I watch documentaries on them, have docuseries on them, have collectable figures and stuffed toys. I even have a dinosaur tattooed on my hand! A little plesiosaur. Ah, good times in Norway...but now's not the time for memory lane, maybe another time. She thinks it's immature and lame that I have such a fascination with dinosaurs at my age. She remarks to me every time I see a new dinosaur related thing "You're almost 30." Well, soon she'll be saying 'But you're 30!' And I know she'll enjoy that. She seems to enjoy looking down on me.
Funko Pops. Those drive her round the bend. She thinks that I am too old to have such a collection or want to collect more of them. I love the art, the sculpture and the fun of chasing down a pop to complete a part of a collection or a full collection. And for her information, some of these "toys" are rare and expensive collectables. Let me see another 10-year-old drop 250.00 on a Funko, then we'll talk. Children of celebrities, CEOs and other rich people don't count, because most of the time these "children" are nothing more than little cult objects for mummy and daddy. They are used as a fashion accessory and they have no real concept of money. Usually, the parent's don't either. Moving on before I launch into a full-blown rant about spoiled and entitled people.
Stuffed Toys. This one is oddly hypocritical since she sleeps with a tiger and a bear stuffed animal. But we won't talk about that one, will we. If I bring it up to her, she'll call me old, I'll get all bent out of shape and it will escalate from there. (30 is not old. Some of my best friends are a little over 30...and are on their way to a care home...) I have a large collection of them, not just dinosaurs. I have a few bears, stuffed plush dolls, collectable merchandise from companies (Peeps! Coke Bear) Pokemon and more. I like the softness. It provides me with a comfort that people can't. I don't think she understands that fully.
My Trays. I've talked about disordered eating on the blog, touched on a few of my eating and food-related issue. I have little trays that help me to place portions when I feel the need to exercise control and restrict. I can get a small portion in rather than just not eating at all. Or if I'm in a binge cycle, I can see what a decent portion looks like. It can't overflow the tray. It helps me to organise out food groups and see that I'm getting what I need in balance, even if it's a small amount. There is a method to my madness.
I'm sure there are other things that I do and have that drive Peaches crazy. I'll be sure to ask her and do another blog on her complaints and grievences. I think it's funny, despite how mean she can be over certain things. Until next time!

Some of the next blogs may be out of order because they were not written in order. The zoo and aquarium blogs are chronologically in order but the PR travel blogs will be posted AFTER.
